The bearing in the main shaft system of the aero-engine is often used in combination with elastic support and squeeze film damper (SFD) to reduce vibration. And this will affect the motion state of the bearing due to the change of the supporting mode. Based on the dynamics theory of rolling bearing and the modal synthesis method, a bearing/rigid rotor model supported by the cylindrical roller bearing with elastic support and squeeze film damper is established. It is used to study the influence of unsteady load caused by rotor unbalance on dynamics characteristics of the bearing. The results show that the skidding rate of the cage shows obvious fluctuation characteristics when the unbalance causes the bearing under unsteady conditions. The squeeze oil damper has a certain influence on the bearing loads and skidding characteristics. The skidding rate of cage increases and presents irregular fluctuations due to the periodic time-varying load.
