Tratamiento quirúrgico de la comunicación interauricular

Abstract

We present the experience of the Cardiovascular Surgical Unit of the San Juan de Dios Hospital of Bogota in the surgical treatment of interauricular communication. Of the 20 operated cases, 13 were conducted under superficial moderate hypothermia and 7 using, extra-corporeal circulation in various forms. There were a total of 3 deaths, as follows: 1 in 1958, 1 in 1961 and 1 in 1963 (this last one presented also an anomalous drainage of the pulmonary veins).
