Il y a un traître par minou : le statut lexical des clichés linguistiques
Abstract
Linguistic clichés – What time is it?, Have a nice day, So it goes, Sorry I am late, etc. – are a peculiar type of phraseological expressions. Though semantically compositional, they are idiomatic because their content is prefabricated, as much as their form. This paper focusses on the status of linguistic clichés with an emphasis on their positioning in the lexicon of natural languages. It also aims at explaining why the mastering of clichés occupies such an important place in the mastering of any given language.
