O LETRAMENTO VISUAL EM AULAS DE INGLÊS INSTRUMENTAL: INTERPRETANDO LINGUAGENS NO FILME CRASH
Abstract
Resumo: O presente trabalho procura analisar a forma pela qual o filme Crash pode ser trabalhado com alunos de graduação em Letras na disciplina Seminário de Leitura em Língua Inglesa. Para tanto, serão apresentadas ao longo desta proposta breves considerações sobre o que vem a ser letramento visual, além de reflexões sobre as perspectivas para o uso de filmes em sala de aula; por último, o filme Crash será abordado como ferramenta para a inserção do letramento visual em uma disciplina de inglês instrumental no curso de Letras. O objetivo desse trabalho é, por conseguinte, analisar as possibilidades de utilização do filme Crash enquanto recurso textual. Buscando-se por meio da interpretação de suas múltiplas linguagens, oferecer aos alunos oportunidades de interagirem criticamente com a mídia proposta e, como consequência, proporem interações semelhantes em suas aulas.Palavras-chave: Letramento Visual – inglês instrumental – filme Crash – interação crítica.Abstract: The present paper aims at analyzing the way through which the movie Crash could be approached in the discipline Reading Strategies for EFL Students, within the Languages course. In order to do so, some considerations on Visual Literacy shall be presented throughout this analysis, together with reflections on perspectives for the use of films in EFL classrooms. Last but not least, the movie Crash will be used as a tool for introducing Visual Literacy into a discipline of instrumental English within the Languages course. The prime objective of this paper, therefore, is to analyze the possibilities for the use of the movie Crash as a textual resource, so as to provide the students with opportunities to interact critically with the proposed media by interpreting its multiple languages and, as a consequence, to carry out similar interactions in their classes.Key-words: Visual Literacy – instrumental English – movie Crash – critical interaction.Recebido em: 04/03/2015 – Aceito em 13/08/2015
