Challenges of Localization and Theorizing in Human Sciences

Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to examine the challenges of localizing the humanities as an emergent necessity of Islamic Revolution discourse and theorizing as an explanatory device for better analysis of the society. Two approaches of Islamization and localization of the humanities are analyzed using the equivalence logic. The main research question is: What are the most important challenges for localizing the humanities and theorizing indigenously in these sciences? The method used in this research is a descriptive - analytical approach which is classified in the theoretical research group.Findings of the study showed that when it comes to localization of the humanities, it is referred to the Islamization of the sciences in line with the values of the Islamic Revolution. Applying western sciences without cultural compatibility to the host community will lead to the transformation of that society. We can only succeed by the time when we have theories for our own intellectual and social challenges and crises that are both effective and scientifically acceptable.
