El 8 de junio y las disputas porla memoria, 1929-1954
Abstract
This article aims two ideas: On one hand showing how in the period comprehended between 1929 and 1954 Bogota’s students recalled the 8th of June, when according to some historical and political proposals was murdered university’s student Gonzalo Bravo Pérez. On the other hand, identifying the struggles among different capital’s social and political groups as trying to impose a signifi cation on what happened that day of 1929. This allows noticing how the recognition of the 8th of June took a place for memory to the Bogota’s society, who gave it a new signification. From this case study, it demonstrates how historical memory is built and kept in the midst of social and political struggles to be converted into the subject of constant disputes
