Empowering Youth to diversify the Production: the Functioning of Agro-technical Schools in the Province of Mendoza, between the Norm and Reality (1940 and 1950)

Abstract:Since the formation of human resources and knowledge generation adapted to the operating conditions of the various regional productions in Argentina, it is a question that has occupied the attention of different sectors since the early decades of the twentieth century, this paper aims constitute a contribution from the study of agricultural technical education policies in the province of Mendoza and serves the analysis of the functioning of the technical and agricultural schools since its inception in 1939 until the early 1950s Specifically, the question about the characteristics that had for two administrations of different political signs had emerged that wine confront crises and promote agro-industrial diversification. This leads to investigate the production profile of the curriculum, also dabbling in those factors that could affect the proper functioning of establishments and condition the permanence of students and training of specialized human resources.
