Family participation in rural schools: a democratic management perspective / A participação da família nas escolas do campo: uma perspectiva de gestão democrática
Abstract
Field education emerges in the movement for public field education. Thus, the movement consists of peasant families who fight for basic, inalienable and indivisible human rights, such as education, housing, land, security, work, health and other rights. In this perspective, the family is essential in this process, thus enabling processes of democratic participation. The problem that this study provokes is how the participation of the families in the rural schools takes place? The purpose of this research is to understand how the participation of the families in the rural schools of Canhotinho-PE, identifying the behavior of the families legitimize the participation and to know the moments that the families participate in the educational processes of their children. Methodologically, it is a qualitative research that has been developed through observation and interview with teachers about family participation, democratic management and educational processes. The theoretical framework of this research is subsidized in the light of authors such as: Paro (2000); Maldonado (1997); Tiba (2002) and others. This study had as a result the limitation of family participation in the formative processes of their children, thus rendering the essence of democratic management impracticable, which entails a solitary pedagogical work of the educator working in the schools field of research of this work.
