Study about the directings to the organization of a subsidiary group of nursing on the Goldmark’s Report, 1919–1923. The temporal clipping comprehend the 1919 year, when was determined the committee that would conduct the study that resulted on Goldmark’s Report, and like a final limit the 1923 year, that was demarcate by the Goldmark’s Report publication. Objectives: To characterize the circumstances in which occurred the development of the study that resulted on the Goldmark’s Report, on the North-American nursing ambit; To analyze the Goldmark’s Report proposals to qualify and to distinguish the subsidiary group of the nurses. Method: Study of historic-social nature based on documental analysis. Results and Final Considerations: All the proposals maked by Goldmark’s Report about the subsidiary group of nursing had like objective to define, to delimit and to regulate the practice of this profession; to protect the community against the frauds; to avoid the exploration of those that collected taxes and assumed responsibilities that wasn’t authorized to them; and to distinguish this professionals to the nurses.
