The use of concept maps combined with a crossword puzzle (TTS) can affect the retention of students in the concept of motion system at SMA Negeri 29 Jakarta. Research methods with quasi-experimental Pretest-Posttest Control Group Research Design and purposive sampling. The research sample totaled 36 students for each group that is the experimental group 1 (E1) by using concept maps combined with TTS, experimental group 2 (E2) by using concept maps, and for control group by using the summary technique. The research instrument in the form of multiple choice objective test consist of 25 questions that have been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the three groups retention data analysed using One Way Anova at significance level α = 0.05. Then retest percentage yield value reached 100.29 at experimental group 1 (E1) with a very good category and differ significantly with E2 (97,06) and control group (94,81).
