Background. The question of the mechanisms of psychological adaptation of a person in crisis situations is quite acute in modern psychological science. Based on the theoretical consideration of the problem of the implementation of tasks for the psychological adaptation of personality, the author of the work proves the fruitfulness of further scientific developments on the issue raised in the article. There is no unity among scientists on approaches to theoretical models of psychological adaptation of a person in a crisis situation (including non-normative). Purpose. Conduct a theoretical examination of the mechanisms of psychological adaptation of the individual in crisis situations. Materials and methods. The work is based on general scientific research methods, among which generalization, systematization, analysis and synthesis are central. The author of the article takes into account a complex of scientific developments devoted to theoretical models of psychological adaptation of the individual in crisis situations. Results. During the study, it was found that despite a deeply scientific understanding of the problem of the mechanisms of psychological adaptation of the individual in crisis situations, this issue needs further development, in particular, the attention of scientists is insufficiently focused on theoretical models of overcoming adaptation difficulties in the process of living in non-normative crisis situations. In this connection, we consider it necessary to introduce into psychological practice such a mechanism as a life perspective, which is one of the ways for an individual to overcome adaptation difficulties while receiving psychological support from a psychologist. Further application of the obtained results. The results of the study may be in demand in further scientific research in the field of psychological adaptation of the individual, as well as in the training of specialists in the psychological sphere of professional activity.
