Impact de la dynamique agricole sur la durabilité des périmetres agricoles traditionnels : cas des oasis des monts du Ksour - Algérie
Abstract
Impact of agricultural dynamics on the sustainability of traditional agricultural areas: case oases of the mountains of Ksour – Algeria. The pre-Saharan area of the mountains of Ksour, part of the Saharan Atlas, which is particularly fragile, is expected to undergo profound and significant changes. In the agro-pastoral zone, where agriculture has been practiced for a millennium inside the perimeters of Ksour (oasis), the agro pastoral activity, which is the main economic vocation of the area, is threatened in its existence by inappropriate practices. The original perimeter of Ain Sefra (oasis of southwestern Algeria), possesses ancient tradition and expertise in the practice of agriculture and soil management in arid environments as well as in the management of water resources that threatens its sustainability. This study has focused mainly on agro soil and socio-economic aspects, which are linked to the exploitation of water and soil resources, has shown that water and soil resources tend to degrade and run out. The issue of control and management of these resources is acute in the new areas of agricultural development. The impacts are already beginning to be felt on the ancient oasis, effectively endangering its sustainability.
