The contribution of tourist signs to touristic development of Parnaíba (PI, Brazil)

Abstract

This article presents analyzed the contribution of the tourist signs for the development of tourism in Parnaíba (Piaui, Brazil) focusing on the facilitation of access to tourist attractions and sustainable use of accessibility on the movement of visitors and residents. The methodological procedures, a photographic record was made for the diagnosis and indicative of the tourist signs, and structured interviews with visitors and residents to assess the accessibility conditions in the city. The results indicate that signaling is important for the tourist tourism communication and accessibility for all users, but there was a technical failure, which hinder access and knowledge about the tourist attractions of the destination investigated.
