Objective: To report the experience of nursing students during an educational action on self- care and STIs with women living with HIV/AIDS in a vulnerable situation. Method: This is a descriptive study of the experience report type. It was carried out from experiences in front of a health education action with 12 women living with HIV/AIDS in a support house located in Recife-PE. Results: The action was carried out with the purpose of dialoguing with women about the promotion and practice of self-care, addressing the importance of intimate hygiene and the ways to promote it, as well as the prevention of STIs. Final considerations: The intervention based on comprehensive and humanized care favored a space for discussion about the importance of intimate hygiene and prevention of STIs in order to promote self- care, female empowerment and self-esteem, as well as the dissemination of information with quality and positive impact.
