Cadiñanos y los Medina Rosales. La Casa solariega Las Torres y otras obras de su patronazgo
Abstract
The Medina Rosales family fixed its residence at the beginning of the 16th century in Cadiñanos (Burgos), and patronised important religious and civil works. Among them, the «Casa Solariega Las Torres», a large manor house, is remarkable, even despite its decay. With a squared base, a central patio and towers in each angle, it is important to appreciate the renaissance ornaments on its façades. These are very close, regarding their typology, to the ones employed by the architect Juan de Vallejo in some other civil works that we find in Burgos, too. This is, therefore, a very relevant work for the study of the architecture of the cinquecento in the Castilian province.
