The religious epic of the Renaissance, a literary genre not yet studied as a whole, almost everything was traditionally written in Latin. Between the 16th and 17th centuries, sacred poems appear in the vernacular language; among them, in Italian Le Sette Giornate del mondo creato of Torquato Tasso and, in Spanish, De la creación del mundo of his epigone Alonso de Acevedo. This article analyzes both poems with a comparative study that allows us to appreciate the differences in the approach of both authors concerning the same theme and the same cultural climate of the Counter Reformation.
