Problems and methods of forest-biodiversity economic valuation
Abstract
We present here the outline of the book written by Brahic and Terreaux (2009) addressing economic valuation of forest biodiversity, useful if not essential to the efficient management of forests, but which can lead to various methodological problems. The objective is to help public and private forest managers in choosing the economic valuation method best suited to the aspect of biodiversity addressed, to put difficulties into perspective and possibly find solutions for them.
