COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE TYPOLOGY OF MEANINGS OF THE ADJECTIVE GREY / СЕРЫЙ ILLUSTRATED BY EXAMPLES FROM FICTION WORKS

Abstract

The types of meaning of polysemantic word, semantic word structure of the English and Russian adjectives grey and серый are observed in this article. Having done the comparative analysis of the adjectives, illustrated by the examples from fiction works, we found out that only few meanings are similar and in each language there are some meanings that are only typical of it.
