CONCEPT AND TERMINOLOGY IN BULUSAR-RAHIB’ THEOLOGY

Abstract

The author examines the terminology employed by Bulus ar-Rahib, a Melkite Arabaphone theologian of hinge between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. He compares Ar-Rahib’s use of theological terms with that found in the works of other Arabophone theologians of the seventh to the thirteenth centuries. It is the intention of the author to clarify the theological terminology used by Arabic Christian authors of this period and to indicate its peculiarities in comparison with the terminology employed by the Greek fathers
