« Le procès du PS – pardonnez-moi –, d’UBS » : éléments d’une analyse socio-discursive des lapsus partisans
Abstract
Drawing on a body of 66 slip-ups committed by French political figures, we show that unintentional parties’ misnaming is linked both to the structural features of the world they belong to, and to field effects. We demonstrate that the production of these slip-ups may be associated with similarities between parties’ names but also between ideological affinity and kinship relationships between political parties. Our analysis also shows that the careers of political figures, the discursive constraints at the core of their argumentation, and the political practical sense they have acquired, play a part in their production.
