What follows is an article that focuses on the study of the memorials designed or built in our country during the 1940’s and 1950’s to «honour the memory of those fallen for our country and in the name of God». Our intention is to delve into the cultural and artistic state of affairs of those years, to analyse the meaning and structural caracteristics of these monuments, bearing in mind some of these memorials and, finally, to put forward the present debate about the conservation, demolition, or deconstruction of these War Memorials.
