Gold (Au) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles decorating reduced graphene oxide (RGO) was designed by hydrothermal method using the agent of 1,8 diamino, 3, 6 dioxaoctan (DDO). This novel DDO with triple function: reducing agent, capping agent and alkaline agent lead to the decoration of Au and ZnO on the RGO. Ternary nanohybrid of Au/ZnO/RGO are probed as photocatalysts for comparative photo-degradation study. The pollutant model of Rhodamine B with different concentrations and pH in the presence of diverse dosages of designed nanohybrids was tested in terms of photocatalyst degradation. Further, Au/ZnO/RGO nanohybrid delivered a good efficiency of 95.05% at pH of 11 and dye concentration of 10 ppm in the presence of 0.06 g designed photocatalysts under visible light. The efficiency retention over 7 runs was 85.80%.
