Abstract As many standard medical dictionaries often lack entries for many terms and conditions encountered in dermatology and dermatopathology, we have created a web-based, illustrated, clinical dermatology glossary as an adjunct to the current medical school curriculum at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. This interactive, learner-friendly glossary supports the self-directed education of medical students as well as residents and physicians who are looking for clear, precise definitions of common dermatology and dermatopathology terms and conditions. A left-hand navigation bar allows for easy access to the table of contents. Definitions include basic information regarding pathogenesis, histology, clinical presentation, and treatment/prognosis (where clinically applicable). Clinical images, histological images, and/or computer-generated interactive schematics are also provided. The basic elements of a dermatological differential diagnosis are taught through the cross-linking of clinically similar terms and conditions. Course directors may use this resource to supplement current curricula and support a standardized dermatology curriculum.
