Les sports de nature comme ressource de développement territorial durable d’une ville-moyenne Française : le cas de Pau

Abstract

Globalization and the attention given to metropolises leads to a fresh look on medium-sized towns. Political actors, well aware of their possible benefits, try to develop their attractiveness. Using the competencies of the “Public Establishments for Intercommunal Cooperation” around which they are based, these actors also try to improve their singularity in order to recreate the identity of their territory. In this case study, we focus on nature sports recreation, in a medium-sized town and it political conurbation, Pau, which endeavours to get a new recognition by working to a new habitability of the urban realm.
