Abstract
The linguistic nature of a scientific term is a factor of its cognitive-heuristic potential. Term is a linguistically systematized and motivated unit and has its cognitive and lexical prototypes; all these characters predetermine its functions of systematizing, modeling and prognosticating scientific knowledge.
