Using Global Literature as Bridges to Understand Ourselves and Other Cultures

Abstract

In this vignette, three teachers share how they integrated books as bridges into their curriculum in cross-cultural studies of Mexico and China to help the students develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. After learning about each culture, they celebrated Las Posadas and the Chinese New Year to experience what they've learned.
