Abstract

<p>Il connubio tra storia e informatica oggi permette di studiare sotto nuove prospettive antiche problematiche: tra queste il ritorno all’oro e le sue implicazioni economiche nell’età di mezzo. I cambi delle monete d’oro (più di 20.000) sono utilizzati per proporre un’interpretazione che, a partire da questi, porti a una prima ipotesi del rapporto tra economia e storia, tra politiche economiche e accadimenti storici. In questo lavoro grazie alla giustapposizione della ricerca storica classica con una nuova metodologia d’indagine (database, grafici semilogaritmici, etc.) si arriva alla definizione di una prima immagine di un indice generale dei prezzi dal 1252 al 1500.</p><p>The combination of history and computing enables us to study old problems in new perspectives. Among other themes, we can now investigate the reappearance of the gold and its economic implications in the Middle Ages. The exchange rates of gold (more than 20,000 data collected) are used to propose an interpretation which will show the relationship between economics and history, between economic policies and historical events. In this work, thanks to the juxtaposition of classic methods in historical research with a new methodology (databases, semi logarithmic graphics, etc..) we present a first hypothesis of a general price index from 1252 to 1500.</p>
