Conflict management and resolution strategies for nurse managers

Doi: 10.5902/2179769211888 Aim: to identify the main management strategies used and the managerial difficulties in mediating conflicts within the work environment by active nurse in a management position. Method: qualitative study. Data collection was through semistructured interviews and vignettes, and data were analyzed according to content analysis Minayo. Interviews were conducted from 20 May 2013 to 7 June 2013. Results: After analysis of issue-situations, nurses were able to propose solving strategies. Conclusions: We concluded that it is possible to develop strategies for managing conflict that can be built, combining scientific expertise to the needs of the service as well as the professionals involved.
