Sliding Mode Control Based Shunt Active Power Filter
Abstract
Currentlytheshuntactivepowerfilter(APF)isaneffectivemeansofreducinginactivecomponentsofthepowerconsumedfromthenetwork.Atthesametime,theshuntAPFbeinganonlinearelementisitselfasourceofhigherharmonics,thesuppressionofwhichisimposedontheinterfacefilter.Whenusingapassivethree-phaseL-filterinthiscapacity,thehighervoltageharmonicsappearattheconnectionpointstothenetworkandtheamplitudeofthesehighervoltageharmonicsdependsontheratioofthefilterinductanceandthenetworkinductance.Inthiscase,itisnotalwayspossibletoensuretheproperqualityofthevoltageattheconnectionpointstothenetwork.Inordertoassesstheefficiencyofcompensationfortheinactivepowercomponentsandtheformofvoltageatthepointsofconnectiontothenetwork,thisworkconsiderstheshuntAPFwithaninterfacethree-phaseLC-filterofthesecondorderandwithaslidingmodecontrol.ThesynthesisofcurrentloopcontroloftheAPFhasbeenshownaswell.AsystemwiththeshuntAPFwassimulatedunderthenonlinearunbalancedloadconditionsinMatlabsoftwarepackage.Thesimulationresultspresentedinthisworkdemonstratetheabilityoftheabove-mentionedAPFtoprovideradicallyhighqualityofvoltageatthepointsofconnectiontothenetworkandsuppressionofallinactivecomponentsofthepowerconsumedfromthenetwork.Inaddition,theshuntAPFhasthepropertyofslowresponsetodisturbancesfromtheloadside.
