This article presents the results of an analysis of the agency and patterns used in a mosaic technique called tesselated, found in four churches in the cities of Cachoeira and São Félix, both located in a region of the state of Bahia known as the Recôncavo. Specifically, the paper examines aesthetic elements of one of the faces of the bell tower of the Church of Belém, a neighborhood in Cachoeira. Its style of ornamentation was often used in the churches of Alagoas, while in Bahia, faience and other materials were introduced as a form of recycling, involving decorative patterns with a unique aesthetic approach in covering church towers in the nineteenth century.
