With a Quiet, Tireless Work, Love Ukraine (to the 75th Anniversary of Vsevolod Senkivskyi)
Abstract
Congratulations on the anniversary of the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technologies of the Ukrainian Academy of Printing, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Vsevolod Senkivskyi. The article presents some information from the biography of Professor V. Senkivskyi, in particular on the date and place of birth, obtained specialty in the field of ‘Mathematics, computational mathematics’ at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Ivan Franko Lviv State University, the beginning of his career as a programmer engineer at the Computing Center of the Lviv Regional Statistical Office, and later as a programmer at the Ukrainian Research Institute of the Printing Industry; defense of dissertation work ‘Research and development of information and mathematical support of systems of processing of the text of books’ for obtaining a scientific degree of the candidate of technical sciences at the All-Union Research Institute of complex problems of polygraphy; Teaching work at the Ivan Fedorov Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute; the defense of the dissertation work ‘Methodology of designing systems of computer preparation of publications’ for obtaining a scientific degree of doctor of technical sciences at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing, where he heads the departments of Applied Mathematics (Applied Mathematics and Computer Information Systems) from 1998 to 2008, Electronic Editions (now — Department of Computer Science and Information Technologies) since 2008. Professor Senkivskyi, author and co-author of about 200 scientific and educational-methodical publications, takes an active part in the certification of scientific and pedagogical staff, in particular, he has repeatedly defended his dissertation at the PPI Igor Sikorsky KPI; under his guidance, 13 dissertation papers were defended for obtaining a scientific degree of a candidate of technical sciences. Professor Senkivskyi is a member of the specialized academic councils for the defense of dissertations at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing and the National University ‘Lviv Polytechnic’ and editorial boards of professional editions (‘Scientific Notes of the Ukrainian Academy of Printing’, ‘Polygraphy and Publishing’, ‘Computer Printing Technologies’, ‘Qualology of books’); for a long time he was an expert in the board of industry mechanical engineering of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine.
