Factors Influencing the Use of Blockchain Technology in Electronic Archives

Abstract

Purpose: : One of the important applications of blockchain technology‌ is document management in electronic archives. The purpose of this research ‌‌‌is to identify the factors affecting the implementation of blockchain technology in electronic archives through a systematic Review.Method: The present research ‌was among the qualitative and cross-cutting research using‌the Sandlusky and Baroso method )2007( in seven steps to set research questions‌, systematic search of texts, screening and selection of appropriate qualitative texts, evaluation of texts and data extraction, analysis and synthesis of findings ‌maintaining quality control and presenting findings‌and conceptual model the team consisted of two specialists in information science and knowledge science‌, one expert in the field of archives, and one expert in the method of cross-compilation research. After the formation of the team, the said steps were done in order. Results‌: The factors influencing the implementation of‌blockchain technology‌in organizations‌and archival centers‌can be‌‌placed in 6 categories of cultural, regulatory, technical, economic, educational and environmental organizing topics. Each of these organizing themes‌has a number of basic themes that total 27 themes‌. ‌‌The themes organizing culture, laws, regulations and economics were each obtained with 3 basic themes, technical issues of 12 basic themes, environmental 4 basic themes and educational themes with 2 basic themes. Conclusion‌: Since‌ the implementation of blockchain technology ‌in electronic archives has a significant impact on improving document management and preventing counterfeiting, identifying factors affecting the implementation of‌this technology in electronic archives can‌be effective. Obviously, in order not to identify all the factors affecting the implementation‌and implementation of blockchain technology will not be properly formed and‌‌will impose significant costs on archival centers. Also, understanding these factors can‌improve management in the field of implementing‌ blockchain technology‌ in other‌relevant organizations and information centers‌.
