Physical and geochemical soil characteristics for remediation the ash landfill of the open pit Gračanica

Abstract

This study relating to determining the physical and geochemical properties of the soil that will be used in the process of remediation the ash landfill of TPP Gacko in the internal landfill of the open pit Gračanica - Ash landfill. According to the Regulation on categories, testing and classification of waste (Official Gazette of RS, No. 56/10), the ash and slag belong to the landfill of no hazardous waste. Two samples were taken from the soil profile A-A from depth of 30 cm. The results of analysis of physical soil properties (primarily particle size distribution) and geochemical analysis (samples D1 and D2) meet or they are in the optimal limits for use in remediation.
