La Edad Media en el arte postal franquista: de la Guerra Civil a la “Transición”
Abstract
Throughout the vast history of Spain, the symbols belonging to the "Castilian Heroic Age" (since the appointment of the Judges until the Cid´s heroic deed) have been used politically with various senses. In the mail art of the Franco period new images arrives to the group, belonging to a wider medieval imaginary, by which the regime defined itself as a rigid catholic nationalism, whose belligerence will be subsequently nuanced and reformulated
