his paper elaborates an analysis of the filmic discourse contained in a considerable portion of the films by renowned Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica.The research focuses on a period of Kusturica’s filmmaking production covering thirty years (1978-2008).We intend to show that Kusturica’s films embody a tireless quest, guided by a strong sociological and historical research.In detailing the formation of characters, represented ceremonies, music and space-time situation where spend their films reaffirms that the movies allows understanding and re-interpretation of sociological, historical, anthropological and economictheories, and beyond, theworld around us.
