A critical discussion of the book of S.K. Korb «A catalogue of butterflies of the ex-USSR, with remarks on systematics and nomenclature» (Nizhny Novgorod, 2005) is provided. Inaccuracies in the interpretation of the distribution of a number of species on the territory of European Russia are noted. Driopa mnemosyne mnemosyne (Linnaeus, 1758) = karjala (Bryk, 1911), syn. n.; = udrjumovi (Bryk, 1914), syn. n.; = ectonicus (Bryk, 1922), syn. n.; = weidingeri (Bryk et Eisner, 1932), syn. n.; 3. Driopa mnemosyne craspedontis (Fruhstorfer, 1909) = ucrainica (Bryk, 1932), syn. n.; 4. Colias myrmidone (Esper, 17810 = antschari Korb, 2005, syn. n.; 5. Melanargia russiae russia (Esper, 1786 = varalauko Korb, 2005, syn. n.; 6. Hyponephele lycaon (Rottenburg, 1775) = rufomaculata Korb, 2005, syn. n.; 7. Chazara briseis lyrnessus (Fruhstorfer, 1908) = suusamyra Korb, 2005, syn. n.; 8. Nymphalis Kluk, 1780 = Antiopa Korb, 2005, syn. n.; 9. Lycaenini Leach, 1815 = Athamanthiini Korb, 2005, syn. n.
