Accentual features of o-declension masculine nouns in the local dialects of Dolnje Mraševo and Gorenje Mraševo

Abstract

This article presents the stress-position, tonemic, and quantitative features of masculine o-declension nouns in the Lower Carniolan local dialect of the villages of Dolnje Mraševo and Gorenje Mraševo. Accentual features are presented and examined within the context of the three Proto-Slavic accent paradigms determined by Christian S. Stang. A list of masculine o-declension endings is also provided together with an explanation of their origin.
