Beliefs of High School and University Students about Health Care for People with Mental Disorders

Introduction: The available data and prognoses on mental health show that mental disorders are a serious and growing problem worldwide. This is an area of interest to many researchers. It is therefore important to recognize the beliefs of young people about this. Research Aim: diagnosis the beliefs of young people about health care towards people with mental disorders. Research problems: What are the beliefs of youth from secondary schools and university students about health care for people with mental disorders? Are there, and if so, what differences in beliefs between school and university youth? Method: The research falls within the quantitative research paradigm and was carried out using the diagnostic survey method using the survey technique. A tool was used in the form of a questionnaire by A. Kanios, M. Czechowska-Bieluga, A. Weissbrot-Koziarska, R. Krawczyk, P. Zielińska. 1084 people took part in the study Results: a significant proportion of the respondents have difficulties in defining their opinion and expressing their beliefs about the studied area. Compared to high school students, students see more clearly the need for community treatment, the need for more effective financing of mental health care, and the inclusion of mental disorder content in curricula. Conclusion: The need for adequate education, both at the level of secondary schools and universities
