Due to the complexity of teaching chemistry, one of the challenges of teachers is the constant search for alternatives to innovate the educational context, arousing the interest of students and making the teaching and learning process more flexible. In this context, comics come as an ally of the process. In this sense, present work reports the use of comics as element of flexibility in teaching and learning chemistry. The work is based on the theoretical assumptions of the Design Based Research, being the subjects of the research 58 incoming students of superior course in Agronomy in a public higher education institution. A closed group on Facebook was used throughout the process as a space for sharing knowledge. The results obtained show that the insertion of comics arouses interest and provides a better understanding of the subjects studied, becoming an important tool to improve the teaching and learning of chemistry.
