The aim of the study was to review empirical studies that evaluate effectiveness of cognitive behavioral group therapy for obsessive compulsive disorder. For this purpose, the articles in English and Turkish published between the years of 2000 and 2015 (February) in national and international databases were searched for. Thirty articles that met the search criteria were included this study. Consequently, the finding showed that cognitive behavioral group therapy was effective in reducing obsessive compulsive disorder symptoms and gains of cognitive behavioral group therapy have been main-tained for a long time. Besides, cognitive behavioral group therapy was as effective as individual cognitive behavioral therapy and pharmacotherapy for treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder.
