Astudy that addresses the building of a theoretical landmark for nursing care to child with post-surgical pain, involving its family, grounded by Paterson and Zderad’s humanistic nursing theory. It objectifies to design caring ways through overlapping concepts that privilege the child suffering from pain while getting over a surgical procedure. Thus, the concept of humanistic nursing must pervade the different areas of nursing performance to value the human being, his/her existence and the meaning of health experience that he/she goes through.
