Découpage séquentiel et nouvelles données archéologiques des Limons des plateaux au nord de Tours (Indre-et-Loire)
Abstract
The “Limons des plateaux” formation, in the north of Tours, is a set of loessic deposits from the middle-Weichselian period. Recent excavations of preventive archaeology provided lithic artefacts from Mousterian period on 4 sites and made absolute datings possible. Based on a referential outcrop, a type-sequence has been defined. It features two subunits, which differ with each other by different pedogenetic events, both contemporary and inherited. On collecting data from 176 logs, from BSS of BRGM and studies from Inrap, it is now possible to submit a first digital model of thickness variability in these “Limons”, between the Choisille and Bédoire rivers.
