INFLUÊNCIA DA WII REABILITAÇÃO NO EQUILÍBRIO ESTÁTICO DE ADOLESCENTE COM HEMIPARESIA: ESTUDO DE CASO
Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze the effects of the Wii Rehabilitation on the static balance of a teenager with hemiparesis. The 16-year-old girl was assessed using the functional kinetics test to classify the type of hemiparesis and muscle tone. The weight and height were checked to calculate the body mass index and later, the tests of static balance based on the Motor Development Scale by Rosa Neto were applied. The Wii Rehabilitation was based on three games that aimed training the balance, preceded by stretching and repeated after the execution of the games. Ten sessions were held, lasting thirty minutes each, three times a week. When the teenager was first evaluated, she hit 96 points on the scale and after the Wii Rehabilitation, she reached 120 points. This information shows the improvement in static balance of the teenager, after doing Wii Rehabilitation, indicating a new therapeutic resource which can be used to treat patients with hemiparesis.
