Abstract

The Neuenheim Branch Library of Medicine and Natural Sciences of the University Library of Heidelberg was founded in 1978 and is responsible for the literature and information supply of about 11.000 students and more than 5000 scientists and physicians. The article describes the range of tasks of the library and its positioning in the university system, but also shows developments of the recent past and points to future aspects.
