« Naturellement créatifs » : pacification, entrepreneuriat et créativité dans les favelas cariocas

Abstract

The favelas of the city of Rio de Janeiro have been the target, in recent years, of a new method of occupation and control on the part of the police forces: the installation of the Pacificatory Police Units. This text examines a specific aspect of the transformations occurring after the occupation: the diffusion of diverse practices and services intended to stimulate, encourage, support, and publicize the so-called « entrepreneurship » of the favela dwellers, praising their creative capacities.
