FACETAS DO MATRIMÔNIO EM UMA VILA MINEIRA: uniões entre reinóis e mestiças em Sabará (1750-1800)

Abstract

RESUMO:Este artigo tem como principal objetivo oferecer novas oportunidades para se pensar o sistema de casamento nas Minas Setecentistas. Com base em um livro de casamentos da paróquia de Sabará para a segunda metade do século XVIII, é perscrutado o matrimônio estabelecido entre homens portugueses e mulheres mestiças, o avesso do que preconizava tanto os discursos oficiais quanto uma historiografia já consolidada sobre o tema. E, por último, aponta possibilidades para que o tipo de casamento ali encontrado possa ser compreendido através de novos ângulos.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: América Portuguesa; Matrimônio; Minas Gerais.ABSTRACT:This article aims to offer new opportunities to think about the marriage system in the eighteenth century Minas. Based on a book of weddings Sabara parish for the second half of the eighteenth century, is scrutinized marriage established between Portuguese men and mestizo women, the opposite of which called both the official speeches as a historiography already consolidated on the subject.
