Despite of modern influences and urbanization, religious practices of indigenous groups, or with an indigenous origin, have been kept as inherited from the prehispanic-mesoamerican tradition. These practices have been adapted to new environments, as happened during evangelization between 16th and 18th centuries. The present study aims to explore part of the processes and features that distinguish the popular religiouseness of the Huixquilucan population in the State of México.
