The nostalgic act of language: from “Fernando Pessoa” to “Fado da loucura”
Abstract
This article aims to analyze the nostalgic enunciative movements that are manifested in the linguistic act of literary - and artistic - cultural productions of the discourse of Portuguese colonialism. The objective of this work is to verify the discursive mechanisms used to deal with the nostalgic behavior that the Communicating Subject reveals in the Enunciating Subject, in the light of the semiolinguistic studies of Charaudeau (2008a, 2008b) – subjects of the language and composition of the internal and external circuits of the linguistic act –, the postulates of Jankelevitch (1974) about nostalgia, beyond the studies of Lourenço (1978, 2014) and Santos (2003) about the peculiarities of the Portuguese colonialism. The research is characterized as descriptive and bibliographical, with a qualitative approach. The corpus of this work is composed by the poem Mar Português, by Fernando Pessoa, and Fado Loucura, by Júlio de Sousa. The fado that sings the madness of Portugal awakens the voices of the Portuguese poets, as Fernando Pessoa, to revive the achievements and the great navigations.
