TEXTUAL FUNCTION OF LANGUAGE : AN APPLICATION TO JAVA LIBRARY
Abstract
Abstract : This paper is an application of the textual function of language to Java Library. In other words, it seeks to discover if and how Java developers encode themes in order to construct meaning in this rubric of Java. The data of this research were collected from some reference books of this object-oriented programming language. The findings reveal that Java developers resort more to unmarked themes, simple themes and experiential themes in order to conctrue the experience in Java Library. It was also concluded from these findings that Java developers do not resort to marked themes, multiple themes, clausal themes, textual themes and interpersonal themes whenever they form constructs of Java Library in order to express content in it.
