The study was conducted to extract the leaves of Jatropha multifida Linn using ethanol, hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, n-butanol, and water; determine the presence of alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, anthraquinones, saponins, cardiac glycosides and cyanogenic glycosides in the extracts using the Test Tube Method. Test the inhibitory activity of the extracts against M. tuberculosis H37Rv using Microplate Alamar Blue Assay. Phytochemical screening of the extracts revealed the presence of alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, cardiac glycosides and cyanogenic glycosides. Results indicate that at 128µg/mL, sample extracts inhibited the growth of M tb H37Rv. Comparing the activity of the extracts, hexane gave the highest anti - tubercular activity.
